The Lions Club District 33A Joseph J. Camarda Fellowship is a prestigious recognition awarded to individuals—both Lions members and non-members—who have made significant contributions to sight and hearing initiatives within Massachusetts. Established in 1986 by the District 33A Sight & Hearing Conservation & Treatment Fund, Inc., the fellowship honors the legacy of Past International Director Joseph J. Camarda, a dedicated member of the Leicester Lions Club.

Recipients of this fellowship receive a personalized plaque and a distinctive lapel pin, symbolizing their commitment to the Lions’ mission. The fellowship not only acknowledges individual service but also serves as a fundraising mechanism, with each $500 contribution supporting the district’s efforts to prevent blindness and hearing loss. To date, over 730 individuals have been honored, collectively contributing approximately $380,000 to these vital causes.
For those who continue to demonstrate exceptional service, the program offers Progressive and Progressive Gold Fellowship levels, each accompanied by unique plaques and pins, further recognizing ongoing dedication to humanitarian efforts.
The Joseph J. Camarda Fellowship stands as a testament to outstanding service and unwavering commitment to improving sight and hearing health in the community.
